On Saturday, QFD members and firefighters from several other departments attended the Traditions Training "Halligan Pro" forcible entry class hosted by QFD at Station 57.  This class was led by instructors Nick Martin, Chris Birch and Robert "Cadillac" Alvarado (all DCFD) and Gordon Davis (Wilmington FD).

The focus of the class was to put 8 hours into concentrating on the basics of forcible entry, which is gaining access into locked buildings for fire and rescue work.  The instructors went over one and two-man force techniques on inward and outward swinging doors, overcoming obstacles, forcing doors in confined, smoke filled areas and tool maintenance and set up.  Once the basics were covered all of the members forced the doors multiple times.

This was a very challenging class and forced the firefighters to work through different challenges and scenarios.

Thanks to all of the members that attended the class and to the instructors for putting on another great class.

The company also responded on two incidents during lunch; a car into the PNC Bank on East State Street and a child struck about 10 minutes later on West 4th Street.
