Just after noon on Tuesday, QFD was alerted for an automatic fire alarm at Country View Manor, 12 Friendly Drive in East Drumore Township. Just before response, LCWC received a call reporting a fire in the kitchen ceiling which upgraded the response.
Engine 574, Tanker 57 and Truck 57 arrived, stretched a line to the inside finding a ceiling fan that was extinguished by staff with an extinguisher. After a quick check for extension, the assignment was downgraded and units returned.
QFD has been overseeing the annual fire drill and fire extinguisher training at Country View Manor since the 1990’s, and today it paid off. The residents were evacuated quickly and correctly, staff called 911 and then put out the fire. This is why we spend the time that we do with local facilities and their fire drill and safety.
Thanks to all the members and mutual aid partners that responded. Thanks also to Tom Amico for most of the photos.
