At 9:26 am Saturday, Engine 574, Tanker, Truck and Rescue 57 were alerted to assist the Robert Fulton Fire Company on a building fire at 1989 Lancaster Pike in Fulton Township. Responding 89 units could see a large column of smoke and requested a Tanker Task Force. Units arrived with a working fire in a large commercial building that makes wood heating pellets.
First-in RFFC units stretched lines to the interior and got water on the fire as Truck 57 set up on side “C” with the crew going to the roof and making three large vent holes. Tanker 57 assisted in the water supply. Engine 574’s crew assisted in fire attack on the interior with Rescue 57’s crew assisting with manpower. Truck 57 re-positioned and used the master stream to overhaul. The entire inside of the building was covered in saw dust, and the easiest way to extinguish all fire was by using the bucket through an overhead door. 57 Fire Police assisted with traffic control.
Units were in service for 3 hours. Thanks to Tom Amico for the photos.
