QFD is a rural district with a very large farming community. For years, our Company has spent many hours learning and training on farm and agricultural related emergencies.
Fall harvest is a busy and potentially dangerous time on a farm. QFD has routinely responded to many farm emergencies over the years, including entrapments, entanglements, engulfment’s, silo emergencies, tractor roll overs and chemical/gas emergencies.
Tonight members spent several hours reviewing some of the things we may find in our district, and then went and performed and extrication on a “subject” under a tractor. Several different rescue plans were developed and implemented to see what worked, what didn’t and what we can do to make things faster and safer.
Thanks to everyone who turned out and to Lt. Vickers for setting it up. Great work !!!
