pDuring months that we havenbspfive Tuesdays we use the extra night for a drivers training night.nbsp During these trainings we cover topics from safety maintenance special hazards vehicle operation and placement and skills.nbsp Tonight we concentrated on a skills challenge.ppChief Engineer Wayne Brion and several of the Training Committee members along with the fire police set up a skills course that consisted of backing and maneuvering around obstacles reduced lane clearance a serpentine course and backing into a small area.nbsp Drivers took turns operating all QFD appararus through the course.nbsp We did not time anyone because we wanted the members to concentrate on proper driving techniques.nbsp We also went over duties for spotters and each time a rig went through the course the spotters were put to work helping the drivers.ppThis was another great night of training for drivers and non-drivers alike.nbsp Thanks to CE Brion for coordinating and to the 30 members in attendance.ppAlso tonight all five members in the Essentials MOD 3 class passed their written test to proceed on to the 4th and final MOD in February.nbsp Good job to Mike Wagner Aaron Stoltzfoos JC Woerth Rob Benson and Samuel Glick.p
