At 2:22 pm Christmas Day, QFD and mutual aid were dispatched to the 2300 block of Beaver Valley Pike in Providence Township for a mobile home fire. The 57 Duty Officer (A/C Henry) arrived with smoke showing and a fire underneath and inside the residence.
Engine 574 arrived and stretched two lines and began to extinguish the fire. Tanker 57 supplied E4. Truck 57 and Engine 572 assisted with fire attack and overhaul. The fire was knocked down within 10 minutes. The Company remained on scene for 1 hour and 20 minutes. Squad 572 and QFD Fire Police also responded and directed traffic in the area.
A house fire is tragic at any time of the year, but especially during the holidays. Please keep this family in our thoughts, as they lost their home and two pets.
Thanks to Tom Amico for the photos, and to all of the volunteers that have turned out this weekend to cover emergencies. QFD has responded on 10 runs since Christmas Eve morning.
