Just before 9 am Tuesday, the QFD Duty Officer was notified to respond to the Solanco High School to check out an odor. On arrival, an odor that was put off by a malfunctioning heating system had filled a good portion if the lower level of the school. The DO called for Truck and Rescue 57 with all available fans, and then also added Willow Street FC Truck 50 for more fans.
Volunteers set up positive pressure ventilation in some areas and negative pressure in others, and also metered with a gas monitor the entire time (no high levels of anything were detected). Crews worked together with SLC staff to go room to room and ventilate as needed.
The company was in service just over 1.5 hours. Thanks to Tom Amico for the photos.
