It is not always about going to calls, training and fund raising. Read the following to see what the crew did after responding to an accident in Black Rock Sunday morning.
A-Team Friends and Family,
I’m just busting at the seams to tell you this. I tried to send an email
through earlier today, and I suspect that some may have gotten it, but many
Earlier this week, I had set it up with one of our A-Team dads that he was
to check the parking lot/sidewalks this morning after the snow incident this
weekend, to make sure it was safe for our students to come to church. We
had salt and shovels ready inside the building, but the roads I must travel
to get to the building are not the easiest to travel during snow/ice/wind.
About an hour before we were to open up for church, I got text messages with
the attached pictures. Apparently this A-Team dad was on a fire call with
Quarryville Fire Company early this morning and since he was to check the
church, he asked the crew if they minded stopping by on their way back from
the call. They were happy to help, and did some salting for us, making sure
all was well. Wow! That brought tears to my eyes. How special is that?
THEN, this evening I received a text from a friend who runs with Quarryville
Fire Company and he asked if we have someone to plow the driveway at the
church. I explained that the farmer below us has agreed to plow, in lieu of
farming some land that the church owns. However, the farmer doesn’t shovel
or salt the area. This friend works for a local excavation company and he
replied saying that they will take care of shoveling and salting for us.
Double Wow!! Knowing that we don’t have to worry about that is a HUGE
relief. We will still need to make some judgement calls if the weather is
tricky during times we are to meet at the facility, but God placed very
willing people to help us out in a BIG way.
Our community continues to shower us with blessings. The more they learn
about our ministry, our facility, and who we are, the more we see people and
companies step up and offer to help.
I’m just blown away at how God is working so many things out for us.
