This year the convention was hosted by the Lancaster County Public Safety Training Center.br br Qspan classtextexposedshowFD Chaplain FF Mike Wagner was asked to present the message at the service and provided a very good message on the past and future of the fire service. After this QFD members assisted in the presentation of the roses for the LCFA members that passed away during the last year.br br After the service members attended the LCFA and Lancaster County Fire Chiefs Association Annual Awards Ceremony. This year several awards were presented to members from the QFD.br br FFEMT Colin Shaw was presented the LCFA Scholarship. Colin attended the LCCTC Cadet Program at the LCPSTC along with 3 other QFD members.br br Next 9 members received a quotUnit Citationquot for rescuing two firefighters from the basement of a burning home after a floor collapse on March 12 2014. This Citation was presented to FF Bill Tucker FF Steven Roop FF Levi King FF Isreal Stoltzfus FF JD Esh FF Jamie Welk FF Curt Woerth FF Rick Hall and FF Jim Herr.br br Finally two new awards were presented this year by the Lancaster County Fire Chiefs Association Line Officer of the Year and Fire Chief of the Year. The Line Officer of the Year was presented to the Deputy Fire Chief Jeff Martin of the Garden Spot Fire Rescue Company. Fire Chief of the Year was presented to Quarryville Fire Company Past Chief Jamie Welk. Jamie served as Chief from 2010 through 2013 and was nominated by peers from the Lancaster County Fire Service.
