QFD Volunteers spent most of the work-day hours on Friday taking care of incidents around Solanco.At 8:33 am, QFD Fire Police were requested to the 400 block of Buck Road (Rt. 372) in East Drumore Township for a tractor and grain cart incident that closed Rt. 372. The Fire Police were in service just under 4 hours. QFD was assisted by Refton Community FC Fire Police.
At 10:23, Engine 572 responded to a spill control incident in the 700 block of Valley Road (Rt. 372) in Eden Township. Units arrived to a large manure spill on the roadway from a malfunctioning manure pump and pipeline. Engine 572, Tanker 57, Brush 57, Squad 571 and 572 remained on scene for 2 hours mitigating the spill. QFD was assisted by Bart Township FC Fire Police and Lancaster County Haz Mat. For about 2 hours, Rt. 372 was closed on both the West and East sides of Quarryville, with incidents being just 3 miles apart.
At 1:49 pm, Truck 57, Tanker 57, Engine 574 and Squad 572 responded to assist Bart Township FC on a building fire at 583 Mount Pleasant Road in Bart Township. Units arrived to find a fire in a dust collector system. Units remained on scene for 2 hours.
