At 1:06 pm Tuesday, Rescue 57 responded to assist Medic 56-5 with a low angle extrication on a vehicle accident. The car had struck a pole then traveled across a field, down an appx. 75′ embankment and across another field before stopping. The Rescue crew utilized the stokes basket and rope to bring the victim up, then carried them across the field to the ambulance.
Rope work is a perishable skill, so after returning to station, Lt. Lefevre held a quick “after-incident drill” on the MPD’s and a Z-Rig set up.
