QFD members continued learning on this months training topic; search and rescue.
Last week, we had a lecture class on “Searching the Unknown” by Gordon Pippen from Eckert Fire Tactics LLC. Tonight, we had access to a house slated for demolition to get some practice and skill repetition.
Members split into two groups, one covering oriented searches and basic search skills, the other covered vent, enter and search (VES). The volunteers were also instructed on venting windows with ladders and “making a door a window” for victim removal.

Thanks to everyone who continues to put forth the effort in our weekly trainings. Special thanks to the “senior firefighters” that are taking the time to train and mentor newer, less skilled firefighters.
